Views on nuclear weapons:

14 March 2007 - voted for the Government motion which called for the renewal of Trident

November 2006 - Replied to survey saying he was not opposed to the upgrading or replacing of Trident -

"in order to protect our citizens and ensure that they can live safely and enjoy this extra expenditure, I believe that we require modern nuclear weapons so that we can deter those who would seek to harm us."
