March 2010 - Replied to a letter from Scotland's for Peace saying that he would vote against the replacement of Trident

2009 - Signed EDM 660 calling for a delay in the Initaial Gate of Trident Replacement.

14 March 2007 - Not present when the debate and vote was held on the motion to renew Trident

Mr Banks is PPS to James Purnell in the Department of Works and Pensions.

Spring 2007 - "absolutely oppose the notion of replacing the current system .. The concept of deterrence theory is no longer viable"

Told the Press and Journal:
"I cannot see myself voting for this".
